SAPOL Pedo Gets 20 Years’ Jail for Horrific Sexual Abuse of Stepdaughters

A former SAPOL country-town cop, with over 40 years ‘service’ on the sleazy force, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of abusing his two underage stepdaughters “for almost all of the time they were at primary school”.

The 64 year old rock spider, from regional SA, appeared in the District Court on Tuesday before Judge Gordon Barrett to be sentenced for two counts of maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with a child and one count of aggravated assault.

The now-convicted pedo, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victims, was previously found guilty in a judge-alone trial after not admitting to the offending.

During sentencing, Judge Barrett noted the two children were abused from “about the ages of six to 12”.

“This was serious offending against two girls who had a right to your protection,” he said. “Your abuse of them is a breach of trust.”

“Although you are a person of otherwise good character (our note: clearly not), your occupation as a police officer was part of the reason why the girls felt that they could not complain about what you were doing. Effectively, they thought there was no-one to complain to.”

“You were in a position of authority in the country town where you lived. That factor reduces the credit which would otherwise be due to you for your good character and exemplary work record.”

A court heard the defendant completed year 11 at school before spending two years in the police academy. He then spent the rest of his working career as a police officer until he retired.

It also heard his seven-year relationship with a woman ended when he was charged but that he had since become engaged with someone he met on a dating app, but not in person.

Note to this creep’s fiance: You got yourself a real winner there, love!

Judge Barrett commended both victims as “impressive witnesses”.

“They both gave their evidence in a straightforward way without an apparent evasiveness or exaggeration,” he said.

“If the complainants were minded to lie about the sexual offending, it is notable that they did not suggest aggressiveness. On the contrary, each spoke of the accused being approving and, to a degree, comforting.”

“In my view, the accused was not an impressive witness. Although his examination-in-chief on the substance of the allegations was extremely brief, there were unsatisfactory aspects to his answers in cross‑examination.”

Judge Barrett imposed non-intervention orders in respect of each victim, forbidding the defendant from any communication of any sort with either of them.

The man was sentenced to 20 years in jail, with a non-parole period of 16 years.

SAPOL, which has a long history of both harbouring and protecting pedophiles, wouldn’t make any comment as “the matter is still subject to the appeal period”.

The man has lodged an application for permission to appeal against his conviction, with a hearing in the Court of Appeal scheduled for November.

We hope he accidentally gets jailed in general population, instead of the protective custody these deviant cops get to enjoy.
