SA Police Officer on Serious Assault Charges Following Investigation
A South Australian police officer will face court next Monday over serious assault charges.
Police say an investigation led to the serving officer being summonsed to appear in court to answer allegations of committing three counts of aggravated assault causing harm, and two counts of aggravated assault.
It is alleged the assaults involved four different incidents and four people between August and December last year.
The police officer has been suspended from duty and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 19 April 2021.
The ABC asked for more detail about the officer’s age and sex, where the offences occurred and when the officer received the summons – but SAPOL refused to provide any further details.
“SAPOL have no further comment, the matter will be in court on Monday,” a police spokeswoman said.
